Ally Kennedy
Managing Director
Ally is a strategic communications and community engagement specialist and has advised clients across renewables, housing, transport and infrastructure. Before founding Luminate in 2023, he held leadership roles at several consultancies supporting a wide range of clients – both in the private sector and as an advisor to local authorities, Government Departments, and the NHS.

Laura Kennedy
Director
Laura is a strategic MarComms professional with experience across global and UK communications. She specialises in media relations, messaging and campaign management, driving engagement across energy, sustainability and the built environment. With 15+ years in PR, she has led impactful campaigns for major brands, including Lightsource bp, Sainsbury’s and Unilever.

Doug Wilson
Associate Director
Doug has over 20 years of experience in communications, consultation, and strategic advice. Based in the Scottish Borders, he supports global energy and renewable firms, providing honest advice and innovative solutions to navigate planning challenges while fostering strong community and stakeholder relationships. Doug also has significant experience leading communications and consultation programmes in retail and development, both through previous leadership roles and as an advisor.

Katie Powis
Associate Director
Katie is an expert in leading high-profile engagement and consultation campaigns - with many years’ experience in the renewables sector working on solar, BESS, tidal, wind and onshore interconnectors and convertor substation projects, as well as significant experience across the Transport, Public and Third Sector. Katie is proficient in the delivery of consultations for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), Developments of National Significance (DNS) and Town and County Planning Act (TCPA) projects - leading and delivering non statutory and statutory requirements for the consenting process for large infrastructure projects.

Osman Dervish
Associate Director
Osman is a political and community engagement specialist with over 20 years' experience in political campaigning. He has over 9 years' experience in the built environment sector, working on a range of projects across residential, data centre, retail, leisure, and industrial schemes.
Osman served as a councillor in London between 2010 and 2026 holding cabinet portfolios and serving on the planning committee.

Kaja Robakowska
Account Manager
Kaja provides communications support at Luminate, working with major clients in energy, development and infrastructure. Kaja is passionate about the transformative impact of major projects, and has supported clients across England and Scotland. Kaja previously worked at the Polish Embassy and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and has a Politics and International Studies degree from Warwick.

Jack Baker-Merry
Account Manager
Jack is a political engagement specialist with experience supporting major development and infrastructure projects across the built environment sector in the UK.
Jack brings a strong understanding of local government processes and political dynamics, helping clients navigate complex stakeholder environments and build meaningful relationships with decision‑makers. He has delivered engagement strategies for high‑profile projects, supporting clients to secure support, manage risk and communicate the benefits of development effectively.

Edward Teather
Account Executive
Edward provides communications support for clients across renewables and development at Luminate. He has recently graduated with a first-class degree in philosophy and politics from the University of Manchester. Prior to joining Luminate, Edward worked at an environmental think tank supporting the international team, mapping out relevant stakeholders and researching how renewable energy infrastructure is built in other countries.

Emma Carson
Account Executive
Emma provides communications support for clientsacross a range of projects at Luminate.
She has a first-class degree in Business and Management with Industrial Experience from the University of Exeter. Prior to joining Luminate, Emma completed her placement year at Lightsource bp where she supported the Marketing and Communications.

Ethan Brackstone

Ethan is a digital specialist skilled in creating effective, user-friendly solutions for our clients. With expertise in across multiple technologies and platforms, he ensures seamless design and functionality. In supporting our clients Ethan has excelled in translating complex needs into intuitive digital experiences, and is supported by our wider design studio team in delivering creative and impactful design solutions.

Robin Wilde
Creative Director
Robin is a designer and communications specialist with a decade of experience working on elections, political campaigns and in the non-profit sector in the UK, USA and Canada.
While working in Canada, he won the 2025 CALM Award for Best Website Redesign Under $15,000, and the Dennis McGann Stroke-of-Genius Award for the most unusual, innovative, novel communications project.
He brings a wide range of skills including print layouts, digital design, web development and strategic design and communications thinking.
